When mobile RPGs actually respect your time
Mobile RPGs have a reputation, and often it's deserved. Too many of them stretch a thin story across endless grinding just to keep you tapping. But a few get it right, and the difference is obvious once you've felt both.
The good ones size their content around how people actually play on a phone. Chapters that fit a lunch break, battles that end before your coffee goes cold, and saves that never punish you for closing the app.
Progression should feel earned, not farmed. When a game hands you power because you played well rather than because you ground the same enemy fifty times, you stay invested in the story instead of the spreadsheet.
We've started judging RPGs by one question: a week after we stop, do we want to come back? The ones that pass tend to be the ones that never wasted our time to begin with.
